Hello everyone, I’m Mercy from Penumbra Restaurant Blog, and today I had the pleasure of dining at one of Chicago’s hidden gems - Penumbra Wine Bar & Steakhouse located in the heart of Logan Square. Their unique blend of wine, seafood, and steakhouses caught my attention, and I was excited to experience it firsthand.

The moment you step inside, the aroma of sizzling steak and fresh seafood will transport your taste buds to a culinary paradise.

The creamy broth of the soup at Penumbra was simply divine. The flavors were perfectly balanced and it warmed my soul on a chilly evening. I opted for the classic tomato soup, but they also have other options like creamy broccoli or French onion.

I ordered the Shrimp Tempura at Penumbra and was blown away by its crispy exterior giving way to succulent shrimp inside. The portion size was generous and the accompanying dipping sauce added an extra layer of flavor. It’s a must-try for seafood lovers!

The Mixed Vegetables dish at Penumbra was a delightful surprise. The vegetables were cooked to perfection, retaining their crunchiness, and seasoned with just the right amount of herbs and spices. I particularly enjoyed the variety of colors on my plate - it was almost too pretty to eat! Almost.

The restaurant has a cozy and intimate atmosphere, with dim lighting and soft music. The tables are set with fine china and crystal glasses, and the staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The overall ambiance is sophisticated and elegant, making it an ideal spot for special occasions or romantic dinners.
