Hide Title field in a SharePoint List

Title field of standard lists can be hidden by going to “Advanced Settings” for the list and enabling content types.
Then go back to the “List Settings” and click the “item” content type that now appeared. You can click “Hidden” for it now and it won’t appear when users add new items to the list. You can also give it a default value if you still want it to have a value, but not to be visible when editing the item or adding items.

I used this in a project where all the items actually had the same title. There Was not really anything meaningful to add for title, and so it was just a default value.

You can still edit the Title by viewing the list in Spreadsheet “mode”.
