Vista / Windows Server 2008 / Windows 7 activation problem: 0×8007232B – DNS name does not exist

I had a problem activating my Windows Server 2008 I used recently for a MOSS development server. This problem occurs on Vista and probably Windows 7 too.

I got the following error:

Code:
0×8007232B

Description:
DNS name does not exist.

The error message points to DNS being the culprit, but it has nothing to do with DNS. The fact is, it just couldn’t activate.

What fixed the problem for me, was just simply enter the key again using the “change key” button. Even if you have already entered the correct key earlier it can still help for some reason. Turns out quite a bit of people have had this problem.
